FAB POLICY OFFERS 25% CAPITAL SUBSIDY

Global IT majors setting up semiconductor units in India will get a 25% capital subsidy from the Government. The FAB policy cleared by the Cabinet said the subsidy would be available for companies manufacturing all semiconductors, displays, storage devices, solar cells, and other advanced micro and nanotechnology products. The subsidy, in the form of tax breaks and interest-free loans, will encourage companies like Intel to reconsider their investment plans in India.
