INTEREST SUBVENTION SCHEME FOR EXPORTERS TO END ON SEPT. 30

The government will withdraw the interest subvention scheme for exporters on account of rise in value of the rupee with effect from September 30. The government has decided to bring this scheme to a close from September 30, 2008. Under the scheme, exporters were compensated for reduction in
profits due to appreciation of the rupee against the dollar last fiscal.
