FINE FOR TARDY ATM REVERSAL

Banks will now have to pay account holders a compensation of Rs. 100 per day for every day of delay in reversing a failed ATM transaction. The RBI has come out with stringent penalties for banks that fail to reverse in 12 days a transaction in which cash is not dispensed by the ATM but money is debited from the customer’s account.
