BANK LICENCE NORMS SHORTLY

The government has indicated to the Reserve Bank of  India that well-capitalized industrial houses should be permitted entry into the banking sector subject to  appropriate safeguards. The finance ministry officials indicated that minimum capital of Rs.1000 crore would be required for a corporate entity applying for a banking licence.
