RBI allows Foreign Investors to invest on Repatriation Basis
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) allowed a host of foreign investors to invest, on repatriation basis, in non-convertible/ redeemable preference shares or debentures issued by an Indian company and listed on recognized stock exchanges in India. This investment will be within the overall limit of $51 billion earmarked for corporate debt.The investors who can invest in non-convertible/ redeemable preference shares or debentures include FIIs, qualified foreign investors deemed as registered Foreign Portfolio Investor.
