PANEL REJECTS 49% FDI CAP IN INSURANCE

The standing committee on finance has rejected the  government's proposal to hike Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the insurance sector from 26% to 49%, saying that it would expose the Indian economy to global uncertainties.
